In an automotive landscape swimming in crossovers and smaller sport utility type vehicles, it’s nice to know that Buick still offers the plush value of a large sedan. In case you’re wondering which vehicle we are referring to, it’s the Lacrosse, and it combines classic Buick luxury along with cutting-edge tech features. First things first: The Lacrosse oozes interior space. It seats up to five occupants and gives them more than enough room to stretch out. It’s also available with some powerful engine options, as well. Pretty standard fare for a luxury sedan, right?
When you take a closer look, however, at the Lacrosse, you’ll find it’s also got a plethora of innovative tech features. Whether it’s under the hood or in the spacious cabin, Buick has engineered every aspect of the Lacrosse to elevate what a luxury sedan should be.
We understand that the market for full-size sedans may not be what it once was, but ask you to seriously consider the Lacrosse if you’re looking for a roomy, family oriented vehicle. There was a time when this type of car was the preferred mode of transportation for families all across the Cave Spring, Christiansburg, and Salem areas. We’re sure that with all the incredible features that Buick has injected into the Lacrosse, many will began to once again put the full-size sedan at the top of their consideration list.
The 2019 Buick LaCrosse comes in six separate trim levels: 1SV, Preferred, Essence, Sport Touring, Premium, and Avenir. The base 1SV offers an eight-speaker sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, 4G LTE, satellite radio, keyless ignition and entry, OnStar emergency communications, Bluetooth®*, and much more. The Preferred gains a cargo net and a power-adjustable steering wheel.
The Essence provides wireless smartphone charging, heated front seats, driver-side auto-dimming mirrors, driver memory settings, leather upholstery, 19-inch wheels, and adaptive headlights. The Premium offers lane keeping assist, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, forward collision warning, an ionizing air cleaner, ventilated front seats, and more. Drivers who choose the top trim, the Avenir, will receive upgraded leather, the contents of several packages, 19-inch wheels, and a revised front fascia.
The Lacrosse represented an important milestone for the Buick brand when it was released in 2005. It replaced the long-running Regal and Century vehicles and was a step toward attracting a younger buyer base. The 2005 Lacrosse was notable for its powerful engine options and ultra-quiet interior due to the use of QuietTuning technology. Buick increased the features one year later on the 2006 Lacrosse by adding anti-lock brakes and side curtain airbags as standard equipment.
A redesigned Lacrosse was launched into the market in 2009. Buick began enhancing technology options in the Lacrosse over the next years along with improving engine efficiency. When the automaker dropped the Lucerne following the 2011 model year, the Lacrosse became the flagship sedan for the brand.
